International Partners

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce boasts a rich legacy spanning 185 years in facilitating trade. Much like its counterparts, our Chamber operates within expansive international networks, collaborating with businesses of varied scales. This collaboration extends globally through strategic co-operation partnerships, manifested in Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with over 125 Chambers of Commerce and business promotion organisations.

The primary goal of fortifying these alliances is to enhance practical, on-the-ground business support in high-growth and emerging markets. This concerted effort aims to cater to the specific needs of businesses seeking support in such dynamic environments.

For our Chamber members with international aspirations, we offer invaluable assistance. Leveraging our extensive network, we connect members with relevant contacts across their chosen jurisdictions, facilitating the identification of suitable business partners. This strategic approach empowers them to expand their operations successfully on the global stage.

The Ceylon Chamber serves as more than a platform for local business and ideas; it stands as a gateway to international markets.

Business Councils

The Ceylon Chamber oversees and coordinates Business Council activities by delivering expert secretarial services.

Business Councils are an integral part of the Ceylon Chamber, playing a pivotal role in advancing international business promotion. These councils are primarily engaged in expanding trade, investment, and tourism between Sri Lanka and their respective partner countries.

Presently, the Ceylon Chamber oversees the operations of 22 Business Councils, actively supporting and coordinating their endeavours by providing professional secretarial services.

These Councils operate through a collaborative effort between Sri Lankan entrepreneurs and their counterparts in the partner country, working closely with diplomatic missions. The overseas counterpart bodies may take the form of Chambers of Commerce or Trade Promotion Organisations specifically established to encourage imports from developing nations.

The Business Councils have a significant positive impact on bilateral trade, fostering exports and attracting investments through bilateral efforts with partner countries. They facilitate business matchmaking events, including business promotion missions, trade fairs, and exhibitions, as well as the exchange of trade and investment related information, to facilitate bilateral business relationships.
