SALE NO: 07 – 12TH/14TH FEBRUARY 2018
Latest reports from the High Grown regions indicate drought conditions particularly in the Western sector following sporadic rainfall that was experienced last week. Crop intakes from all regions are showing a downward trend which is normal for the time of the year. Elsewhere around the major tea producing countries, crop intakes are moderate.
Liquors of Western Teas which were produced under ideal conditions, such as ‘low ambient temperatures’ and high ‘hygrometric differences’ have shown some seasonal quality and brightness. The present conditions should prompt the producers to harvest a good standard of leaf to manufacture brighter teas with adequate colour, strength and a neat leaf appearance.
