Sri Lanka Economic Summit
“Public-Private Sector Collaboration in Seizing the Opportunity to Reset”

The upcoming Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2021, the foremost and most anticipated economic event of Sri Lanka, will host a lineup of contemporary dialogues under this year’s theme ‘Springboard for revival: Opportunity to reset’. Day one of the event will feature a session dedicated to ‘Public-Private Sector Collaboration in Seizing the Opportunity to Reset’ on 6th December, 2021.

This session will focus on two dynamics. One being the role that the private sector will play in contributing to policy development and how a framework can be developed in Sri Lanka for Government and private sector to collaborate to ensure policy making will be progressive and development focused. It will also cover how Sri Lanka can seize its potential of being the commercial hub for Asia by attracting investment to key projects that can catalyze growth and development. The session will focus on attracting investment into infrastructure through PPPs, sale of non-strategic assets to boost government revenue and dollar inflows, and attract investment into key projects like Port City and Hambantota Industrial Park amongst other flagship projects.

The Presenter at this plenary will be Ms. Diaan-Yi Lin – Senior Partner, McKinsey and Company. Mr. Sanjay Mohottala – Chairman, Board of Investment Sri Lanka, Mr. Thulci Aluwihare – Deputy Managing Director, CHEC Port City (Pvt) Ltd., Ms. Catriona Jayasundera – Senior GM (Comm & Mktng), Colombo International Container Terminals Ltd., Ms. Nilushi Jayatileke – Marketing Director (Beauty and Personal Care), Head of Corporate Communications, Unilever Sri Lanka Ltd., Mr. Dumith Fernando – Chairman, Colombo Stock Exchange and Ms. Sharmila Kantha – Principal Consultant, Confederation of Indian Industry, will join the panel discussion.
