The National Police Commission (NPC) was established last year in order to make the Sri Lanka Police an independent, efficient and responsive organization in dealing with law and order issues. Over the last year, the NPC has taken many steps to achieve the above objectives. In this regard, inter institutional collaboration has been identified as a major area of activity. It is hoped that Sri Lanka Police working in collaboration with state and non-state sector institutions could perform better in addressing issues in diverse areas of law enforcement.
On 3rd of September, Sri Lanka Police will celebrate 150 years. The National Police Commission (NPC) in association with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has initiated an interaction amongst National Police Commission (NPC), the Sri Lanka Police and the corporate sector, to discuss issues with regard to areas of Law enforcement and possible collaboration with the corporate sector, in implementation.
