The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), under the SWITCH - ASIA Programme funded by the European Commission, is enhancing the environmental performance of Sri Lankan Hotels. The project aims to increase market acceptance by promoting green hotels with a low carbon foot print. The main beneficiaries of the Project are small and medium hotels. Within four years the project will support 350 Sri Lankan hotels to reduce their energy and water consumption up to 20%. The project commenced in January, 2010. One of the first activities of the project is a baseline survey on the environmental performance of the hotel sector.
