| The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in association with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will hold a briefing session on “How to use Hong Kong and HKTDC Food Expo for tapping the Chinese Mainland and Asia market?” on 26th March, 2009 at 4.00 p.m. at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
On the cards is participation at the world renowned Food Expo in Hong Kong; the Ceylon Chamber intends orgarnizing a pavillion to promote trade and investment between Hong Kong and Sri Lanka.
HKTDC’s 40 year experience in organizing trade fairs, among them eight of Asia’s largest and two of the world’s largest, as well as the Food Expo’s reputation as one of the long standing events of the HKTDC will undoubtedly stand in good stead for the exhibitors. In 2008, over 500 exhibitors (from 17 countries and regions), 8700 trade buyers and over 300,000 public visitors, made Food Expo an outstanding success. Among the wide range of potential products targeted for display at the FOOD EXPO are Biscuits, Snacks & Confectionery, Rice, Noodles & Pasta, Sauces & Seasonings, Seafood, Canned, Frozen & Preserved Food, Convenient & Instant Food, Dairy Products, Fresh Food, Gourmet Food, Beverages (Alcoholic and non-alcoholic - Tea, Ginger beer, Fruit Juices) and Meat & Poultry products. HKTDC will organize matchmaking sessions with potential business partners or investors. Through first hand feedback from the end consumers, exhibitors will receive the opportunity to build up their brands and test out the market preference.
