One of the unique features of the portal is that it hosts validated
business contacts fed by over 12 other regional Chambers in Sri Lanka
covering the areas of Kandy, Kurunegala, Hambantota, Matale, Ratnapura,
Matara, Jaffna, Vavuniya, Trincomalee, Monaragala, Badulla, and Galle.
The www.bip.lk
provides many options for customers to interact. A customer could
buy a product paying one-off using the credit card or subscribe to
the portal and use a pre-paid/top-up package. Information bought would
be kept in the customer’s private briefcase for 20 days. This
feature would provide businessmen who travel frequently to maintain
their own information repository rather than buying them over and
over again.
For rural Sri Lankan business communities the portal would serve through
a network of Business Information Service Centers (BIS-Centers) and
CCC-VGKs (Vishwa Gnana Kendra). There are over 9 centers in Sri Lanka
from Jaffna to Hambantota.
The most important aspect of www.bip.lk is that it maintains validated
content fed by BIS-Centers situated at multiple locations in Sri Lanka.
In addition, the CCC on a daily basis maintains business contacts. |
