| Banking hours are from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00
p.m. on Monday to Friday. Some banks are open until 7.00 p.m. including
Saturdays. Foreign exchange facilities are available at most banks
while a 24-hour service is available at the Bandaranaike International
Airport (BIA). Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and exchange bureaus
can be found at all main cities of the island. Major Credit Cards
are accepted at most shops, restaurants and hotels. Besides the
usual banking services, offshore banking facilities and foreign
currency accountants are available subject to certain conditions.
